N.E.P.T.U.N.E

No one is safe, not whilst Poseidon lives. For if Poseidon is allowed to reclaim his throne, so might the other Angry Gods return as well. Nay but that the rumors are true, the water god Poseidon lives! He has returned to the water kingdom of Neptune!

East along the shores of the Jacqueline forest, he hath washed up on the rocky coast of the Frozen Gold River, miraculously, as if no time hath passed since he last walked these shores. Fount by land merchants, the water king was unconscious, and bereft of most of his magic. To the best of all recorded knowledge, the water god Poseidon had disappeared from Neptune more than two thousand years ago. Yet there is no mistaking him and his mythical trident.

Poseidon lives indeed. It takes the combined powers of all the water priests to revive his great health, but soon all of Neptune learns the news. Poseidon lives yay again. He returns to a water kingdom much different than the one he left 2,500 years ago when he and the other gods were defeated however. And as the water king regains his vaunted strength he observes a great many disturbing things. Most disturbing is the lack of monuments made to his honor, the water god observes, or to the other gods of old . It enrages the water king, what’s more, to discover that the people of Neptune seem to honor another being instead of the gods. 

They call her the Neptune Queen. She is endowed with incredible power, perhaps rivaling even that of Poseidon himself. Her real name is Marine Winters. She was born on Neptune but she also has human blood. To Poseidon’s shock there are monuments of her throughout the capital cities of every major nation on the planet. The people of the great water kingdom Neptune it seems, hath forgotten the old gods. Perhaps even, the people love this Queen more than the old gods.

“Under the rising tide she comes,” that’s what the children shout. They write tales of her, they sing her praises. Poseidon sees this and though he is himself smitten by the Queen’s fabled beauty, still he can not abide her influence.

Neptune will soon bleed. Poseidon will wait until all his powers have been fully restored. He will bring war. He will bring death. He will unearth the evils of ancient Neptune, unless the Neptune Queen can stop him.

Early when the universe was young, Poseidon and his kind were known throughout the galaxies as the 12 Angry Gods. There reputation was well deserved. If Poseidon is not stopped now, he will assume dominion over this part of our universe. And he will seek to return the angry gods to power. Heaven help us.  Heaven help the Neptune Queen.
